2021 Nissan Qashqai, here are the first images of the third series

2021 Nissan Qashqai

Three million models sold in 14 years and the third generation on the launch pad. We are talking about Nissan Qashqai, the absolute champion of mid-range Sports Utility, a segment that practically did not exist before 2007 and today has 26 competitors! Always developed and produced in England,

The first novelty concerns the fully electrified engine range. There are two options: the 140 and 158 HP 1.3 turbo mild-hybrid petrol; the new and advanced Full Hybrid e-Power engine, which delivers 140 kW (equal to 190 HP) and does not need plug-in recharging. However, we will only see the latter in 2022, and in the middle Nissan will also launch the 100% electric SUV Ariya. First, there is room for the gentler Qashqai mild hybrid, with 6-speed manual gearbox or, but only for the 158 HP version, with the optional CVT Xtronic transmission.

Nissan Qashqai third generation is born from the classic white sheet, even if it does not lose the stylistic references that have determined the success of the two previous series. The body has been lightened by 60 kg and the doors, like the front fenders and the hood, are now entirely in aluminum, which has saved 21 kg of weight. High-strength steels were used 50% more and therefore the SUV is even more resistant and safe. A lot of work has been done on the suspension department, McPherson type on all four wheels and with a new tuning to improve the damping of road irregularities. Versions with 20-inch wheels and 4x4 ones have multilink suspension.

Another technical innovation compared to the current Qashqai concerns the vertical realignment of the shock absorbers, which allows you to optimize the ride in any condition, as an SUV should always do, which was born as a variant of off-road style. But Nissan also cultivates the technological side and adopts the new ProPilot with Navi-link on Qashqai 3. It is the driving assistance system that integrates various functions, regulates acceleration and braking and in traffic it can even slow the car down to brake it completely, to restart it automatically if the stop lasts less than 3 seconds.
