DS 4: the new compact slightly crossover with the 225 HP plug-in.

The second generation of the French Segment C changes everything: expected by the end of the year, it will also be in the E-tense version on tap.
And here is also the new DS 4. After presenting a completely new model with the flagship DS 9, now it's the turn of the second generation of the hatchback.
Which on closer inspection, due to the proportions, the shape of the roof, and the muscular surfaces, winks, even if not very subtly, at the crossovers of Segmento C.
This is also demonstrated by the range with which it will be launched, which is divided into three stylistically distinct lines,
with the DS 4 Performance  dedicated to an audience looking for a more sporty sedan and the DS 4 Cross,
which instead looks more like a crossover, alongside the “normal” DS 4.

A question of style

The car evolves the typical design of the brand by adopting some aesthetic solutions seen on the DS Aero Sports Lounge concept,
from which it takes up the front, the tail, and the original rear pillar.
Particular work has been done on the luminous signature. The car, which has 98 LED daytime running lights (they also integrate size indicators),
has three-module headlamps (as on the DS 7 Crossback) that can also be moved on this model to adjust the light beam as needed.
Even inside the car, it is still based on the typical style of the other DS cars seen to date, taking it into the future with new solutions.
The most characteristic elements are represented by the very high central tunnel and the wraparound dashboard which integrates all the controls and which extends to invade the interior of the door.

The 225 HP plug-in,

The DS 4 was born on the EMP2 platform - the same adopted by numerous other models of the group including the DS 7 Crossback,
but 70% of the components have been modified to adapt to the needs of this specific car.
Thanks to this common basis, the DS 4, which can also be equipped with active suspension,
will also be available in the hybrid version that uses the same powertrain as the other plug-ins from Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel (the Franco-German part of Stellantis, to understand each other).
It is an E-Tense scheme that combines a 180hp 4-cylinder with a 110hp electric motor and the EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission.
The car has a total power of 225 hp and thanks to the presence of a new generation battery with a capacity of 12.4 kWh it can travel up to 50 km in completely zero-emissions mode.

Assisted driving,

The DS4 arrives on the market equipped with the new driver assistance system that uses a series of latest-generation technologies.
Not only ACC but also blind-spot monitoring, obstacle warning when maneuvering, reading of road signs, and maintaining the lane.
There is also an infrared camera embedded in the grille that detects the presence of pedestrians and cyclists even at night up to 200 meters away.
Among the features onboard there will be the extended head-up display with augmented reality, a new device that projects all information on an extended portion of the windscreen and guarantees the driver a clear view of all the parameters without having to distract him. look from the screen.

Easy infotainment,

The car is equipped with a new infotainment system called the Iris System which has been designed to be as similar as possible to a smartphone.
This is to make it simple and intuitive. It's all touch, except for a home button that allows you to quickly return to the home screen.
The system is also fully customizable and keeps your favorite settings in memory.
There is also the smart touch, a 5 ”touch screen positioned near the gearshift controls that allows you to quickly access a series of functions that are used more frequently.
The new DS 4 will arrive on the market in the latter part of 2021, with orders already possible in the second half of the year.
