Mercedes eCitan, the first official images of the tests

The base model was already surprised in testing last year, but now the House has released photos of the electric variant

The new generation of Mercedes Citan will have an important responsibility. The small van of the Star must, in fact, overcome the many critical issues of the previous series, born on an already somewhat dated basis (that of the previous generation Kangoo which was already on the market for several years ) with quality and safety standards not up to the standard of the rest of the Mercedes range.

The new generation, which is always born in collaboration with the French company, which however allows you to change everything, this time being able to use a platform in step with the times, with original solutions also from a practical point of view and above all, ready for the now inevitable electrification. Indeed, like Kangoo, which has already been officially shown, Citan will also have an electric variant.

Officially on the street

The confirmation comes from Mercedes-Benz that after having released last year a teaser of the future T-Class, the counterpart that will take its place in the multi-space segment, has now unveiled the fully electric one called e-Citan. And here, too, the debut is for the second half of 2021.

It did so using one of its "social" channels, the LinkedIn platform. The teaser, of course, comes in the form of deliberate and official "spy photos" showing the van in familiar camouflage wraps. Indeed, even better: the e-Citan has been "spied" with an accompanying photograph showing the small electric van in a charging station.
