Porsche 911 GT3 RS, what a gigantic rear wing!

Porsche is testing something new, here are the spy photos

Porsche is relentless in freshening up the 911 range as there always seems to be something new to come. The GT3 made its debut last month, and the more "racetrack" variant of the Porsche 911 is not long in coming. Our photographers have immortalized this 911 GT3 RS with a gigantic rear wing.

Given the dimensions, similar to those of the new 911 GT3 Cup, it might look like a racing car. However, we can easily see that the prototype had a license plate and was tested on public roads.

Well masked

As is customary with Porsche now, the prototype wears a rather deceptive camouflage. The rear might look unmasked, but you notice an additional layer of camouflage in body color on closer inspection.

The side plates with which the wing ends are also masked, as is the engine cover. The side profile appears to hide the ventilated front fenders in the 991.2 GT3 RS, and the suspension configuration shows minimal ground clearance. The bulge of the covered hood, then, probably hides a couple of air intakes.

Porsche is probably perfecting the aggressive aerodynamic package reserved for the RS variant. On the menu are: stronger brakes, a stiffer chassis setup, and specific wheels; without forgetting that there will also be changes on board.

What we will see this year

The 911 GT3 RS should arrive by the end of 2021.
