Kia EV6: all the data on battery, range, power, and performance

Autonomy up to 510 km, recharge at 350 kWh and, in the GT version, 585 HP and a 0-100 in just 3.5 Sec.

Kia had said it: the EV6 would have opened the Korean House's new course in terms of electric mobility. After having revealed its design and general philosophy, we now go into detail on the first of 7 zero-emission models that will arrive between now and 2025. It will all be identified by the initials EV followed by a number between 1 and 9 (not it is still known which will not use digits).

Crossover in the true sense of the word, since it aims to synthesize a single model the space and comfort of a family car with the performance of a sports car, which reflects this dualism also in the style and layout of the passenger compartment. The Kia EV6, born on the Hyundai E-GMP platform, will be offered in various mechanical configurations.

Two or four-wheel drive

First of all, Kia confirms that there will be two battery cuts available: starting from the 58 kWh package and arriving at the 77.4 kWh one. In both cases, you can choose the configuration with a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive or the one with two engines arranged one per axle and the four-wheel industry.

The EV6 with a 58 kWh battery and a single electric motor has 170 HP of power, while the one with two engines reaches 235 HP and a peak torque of 605 Nm. In this configuration, the car can shoot from 0 to 100 in 6 "2. The EV6 with the larger battery, on the other hand, has 229 HP in the version with one motor and 325 in the one with two motors. The first boasts an autonomy of 510 km in the WLTP cycle, the second, which sacrifices something in terms of "range," reaches 100 per hour with a 5" 2 standing start.

The GT, for those who are not satisfied.

To underline the Korean electric's sporty nature. a GT-Line trim will also be available, which introduces a more aggressive aesthetic characterization and can be ordered with both the 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh versions.

The range, however, will be completed with the very bad GT, a purebred sports car, which adopts the larger battery and two electric motors capable of developing a system power of 585 hp and a total torque of 740 Nm. 0 to 100 in 3.5 and touches a maximum speed of 260 km/h. A real technological showcase for the House, it has a limited-slip differential control software that maximizes driving pleasure.

  • Battery: 77.4 kWh
  • Drive: four-wheel drive
  • Max power: 585 CV
  • Max torque: 740 Nm
  • Accelerator 0-100 : 3.5
  • Max speed : 260 km/h
  • Charging at 350 kWh

Performance aside, the fact that the Kia EV6 is born on the new platform of the Korean group (the one that debuted in absolute preview with the Ioniq 5 ) brings apparent advantages in charging. The battery with 800-volt architecture allows you to fill up with energy at speeds up to 350 kW. It means that you go from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes and that, to gain 100 km of autonomy more, it takes four and a half minutes to stop at an ultrafast column.

The car will also be equipped with Vehicle to Load technology, which allows you to release energy and charge an external device: a phone, a tool, and another car.
