VW's next-generation EV sedan "Aero B"

VW's next-generation EV sedan "Aero B" will be produced in 2023!

Volkswagen announced on May 20 that it will start production of the " Aero B " in 2023 at the new assembly plant for electric vehicles completed at the Emden plant in Germany.

Aero B is seen as the in-house code for Volkswagen's new EV. According to Volkswagen, Aero B will be lined up with sedans and "variants" (wagons). From this, Aero B may refer to the successor to the "Passat".

The Volkswagen Group plans to invest € 89 billion in future technology by 2021-2025 under its medium-term management strategy of 2030, "NEW AUTO." By increasing investment in future technology, the Volkswagen Group will become more competitive. For the first time, € 89 billion in investment in future technologies such as electrification and digitization will account for 56% of the total investment of € 159 billion for the entire group.

The Volkswagen Group aims to become a global market leader in the field of EVs by 2025. To achieve this goal, we will further switch to EV factories in Europe. The Volkswagen Group expects that one in four new cars sold by 2026 will be an EV.

Aero B is positioned as an important model in the Volkswagen Group's electrification strategy. In 2023, the sedan will first appear, and in 2024, the variant will be announced.
