 Renault Kiger debuts in India

The Renault presents Kiger, a crossover reserved to India that aims halfway between the Kwid and  Duster, already sold on the local market. With less than four meters in length, this car still manages to offer five seats and, to attract acclaim, it focuses on design and equipment. Two engines are proposed at launch: the naturally aspirated 72 bhp 1.0 Energy, with the manual gearbox or five-speed robotized Easy-R, and the 100 bhp 1.0 Turbo with continuously variable manual or automatic X-Tronic gearbox.

Little aggressive. The muscular and personal style of the Kiger is in line with the canons of Renault, as well as the two-tone characterization with the contrasting roof. If the rear area focuses on stylistic features already seen, the same cannot be said of the front, where the optical groups characterized by three main elements stand out, dominated by a thin LED line that acts as daylight and is integrated into the design of the grille. The very marked wheel arches, the 16 "rims, the raw plastics, and the roof bars are typical SUV elements, but the spirit of the model is actually purely urban. The Cmfa + modular platform has made it possible to obtain a favorable ratio between external dimensions and comfort: with two and a half meters of the wheelbase, a luggage compartment with variable capacity from 405 to 879 liters is available.

Infotainment when grown up. The interiors are rather traditional and you immediately notice the 8 "infotainment screen, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly. There are also the Arkamys audio system, the rearview camera, and the different driving modes of the Multi-Sense (Normal, Eco, Sports), while a reconfigurable 7 "TFT screen is dedicated to the driver. The air conditioner, available on the richer versions with an automatic management system, enjoys the Pm 2.5 Clean Air certification.
