Tesla Model S and X| All the news of the restyling and Plaid versions,
The Tesla presented updates of the Model S and Model X. Sedan and SUVs are renewed by improving performance, thanks to the changes made to the powertrain and batteries, as well as the introduction of the Plaid versions with three engines and all-wheel drive. However, to steal the show are the interiors, radically innovated by the insertion of the new steering wheel, with a futuristic design, which winks at the worlds of gaming and aeronautics: beyond the clean and minimalist style, in fact, you immediately notice the absence on the column of the rods for the controls, starting from the direction indicators. The company has already updated the price lists and communicated the prices of the updated models, whose deliveries are scheduled for September in the Long Range and Plaid versions. The Tesla Model S Plaid +, with an estimated range of over 840 km, will arrive at the end of the year.

The arrow controls, as well as those for the high beams, the horn, and the one to activate the Autopilot, are "force touch" buttons, combined with a wheel similar to that of the mouse to scroll through the various functions. The absence of rods also eliminates the selector used previously to activate the various driving modes, a function that Tesla would like to make completely automatic, leaving the choice to the Autopilot sensors: for example, if the car will detect an obstacle in front of the car, such as a garage wall, will shift to reverse as soon as the driver presses the brake pedal. The Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive functions still maintain physical controls on the center console. The other innovations concern the 17 '' information display,

The sedan has a new panoramic roof and a rear area with renewed seats: by folding the central portion of the backrest, the two seats are divided by a console. On the outside, however, the retouches are limited to a reduction of the chrome and minor interventions on the front. As mentioned, the update also concerns performance and - thanks to a review of the batteries - the estimated range: the Model S Long Range rises to 663 km, the Plaid (1,020 HP) to 628, and the Plaid + (over 1,100 HP) more than 840 km. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h ends in 3.2, 2.1, and under 2.1 seconds respectively, while the top speed is 250 km/h for the Range Plus and 320 km/h for the two Plaids. Thanks to better thermal management of the battery pack, both for the sedan and the SUV the charging speed reaches 250 kW, like Model 3 and Model Y. Other technical changes concern the transmission and the use of the heat pump (already used for Model Y and Model 3): interventions that aim to make Elon Musk's three-volume more efficient. The start of production is scheduled for the first quarter of the year. The prices start at 89,990 euros for the Long Range, from 119,990 euros for the Plaid, and from 140,990 euros for the Plaid +.

The modernization of the interior of the SUV, which can also be configured with seven seats, follows that already described for the Model S. Outwardly, however, the main differences lie in the lines of the lower part of the front, now cleaner, and in the disappearance of the chrome frame that previously surrounded the side windows. The technical interventions made are the same as those reserved for the sedan, for a declared range of 580 km for the Long Range version and 547 km for the Plaid. The first accelerates from 0 to 100 km in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, while the second closes the sprint in 2.6 "and reaches 262 km/h. In Europ, the price list of the Suv starts at € 99,990 in the case of the Long Range and goes directly to € 119,990 in the Plaid.
