Able to travel up to 55 km in electric mode starts at 29,900 euros thanks to state incentives and financing from the House.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV arrives in Europe, a plug-in hybrid version of the Japanese SUV / coupé, previously available only with the 163 HP 1.5 turbo petrol or the 148 HP 2.2 diesel. A powertrain is offered in 3 different configurations (Intense SDA, Instyle SDA, and Diamond SDA), starting from 29,900 euros.


It is an introductory offer that takes advantage of state incentives and the financing of the House, called EcoShock, while the basic version starts at 43,900 euros on the price list.

The plug-in hybrid system of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV, derived from that of its older sister Outlander, includes two electric motors (one per axle) of 82 and 95 HP and the 98 HP 2.4 petrol Atkinson cycle, for a total of 187 HP.

Powering the two electric engines is a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack for 55 km of autonomy in 100% electric mode. The charging times ranging from a maximum of 7 hours with a classical 220V line to a minimum of 25 minutes by the direct current at 300 volts.


Official data declare a maximum speed of 162 km/h (135 in electric mode) and 0-100 in 10.9 ", for average consumption of 2 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 46 g/km. There are three driving modes:


EV Mode: uses electric motors only

Series Hybrid Mode, the gasoline engine is used to electric power motors

Parallel Hybrid Mode: All three machines are used

New style

In addition to the mechanical innovations, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross plug-in hybrid is also updated in style starting from the front, with a new design for the Dynamic Shield grille, redesigned headlights with daytime running lights and direction indicators at the top, and headlights (LED for Instyle SDA and Diamond SDA) at the bottom.


The rear also changes where the spoiler placed in the middle of the rear window disappears to improve visibility, while the lights have a new design.


In terms of standard equipment, the Eclipse Cross PHEV offers infotainment with an 8 "touch monitor, Apple CarPlay Android Auto compatibility, and various driving assistance systems. Also, the Type2 charging cable (Mennekes ).
